Welcome to the first installment of my fitness journey series! As many of you know, I am currently participating in the Ms. Health & Fitness competition, and I’m thrilled to take you along with me on this incredible adventure. Finding My Passion for Fitness
I got my start with fitness and nutrition almost 20 years ago. It started with a love for running and learning everything I could about good nutrition and cooking in healthier ways. Then, my passion for fitness evolved. I discovered the joy of lifting weights, the tranquility of yoga, and the thrill of trying new activities like aerial silks and hula hooping. Each step along the way has been a learning experience, shaping my understanding of health and wellness.
The Importance of a Holistic Approach
One thing I’ve learned over the years is the importance of a holistic approach to fitness. It’s not just about building muscle or losing weight; it’s about nurturing your mind, body, and spirit. Here are a few principles that guide my fitness journey:
- Balance: Incorporating a mix of strength training, cardio, flexibility, and relaxation exercises to ensure overall well-being.
- Nutrition: Eating a balanced diet rich in whole foods, lean proteins, healthy fats, and plenty of fruits and vegetables.

Tips for Staying Motivated

Celebrating Small Wins
It’s easy to get caught up in the pursuit of big goals and forget to celebrate the small victories. Every step forward is progress, and acknowledging these moments keeps the journey rewarding. For instance, mastering a new yoga pose or increasing your weights in the gym are achievements worth celebrating.
Looking Ahead
As I continue in the Ms. Health & Fitness competition, my goal is to inspire others to embrace their own fitness journeys. This competition is more than just a title for me; it’s an opportunity to connect with a broader community and share the message of health and wellness.
Winning would allow me to further my mission of empowering women to prioritize their health and fitness. With the $20,000 prize, I plan to create resources and programs that provide valuable fitness education and build a supportive community where everyone can thrive.
